A Note To The Terrorist About God

Assuming tsunamis are man-made, the creators of 9/11 would have had a
better location than the Indian Ocean coasts. Perhaps the aeroplanes would have been spared also.

Assuming earthquakes are human-made the makers of the bomb
attacks in London, Mumbai and Madrid would have spared Turkey and Iran as well
as the use of explosives.

Assuming the twin tragedy of earthquake and tsunami which will in turn
catalyse a nuclear meltdown could be conjured by humanity, the terror
of embassy bombings would have been saved. Japan would have been
spared of its grief.

Assuming that humanity can cause the earth to convulse at will,
Breivik would have used Icelandic ash clouds rather than a machine
gun.

But nature is more powerful. God in His Infinite wisdom apportions
tragedies and comedies as He wills. How then can humans who preach
that we do not have divine powers now try to usurp the divine
prerogative of taking life?

As you prepare for your next target. As you ingeniously device better
ways of taking as many lives as possible. Ask yourself this question:
How many lives can you give in return for the hundreds you take? The
One who allows the earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, and even you to
carry out your evil enterprise is capable of giving a million lives
for every one life that He allows to be taken.

Now that you have become an expert at creating mass death subtly,
which of the natural disasters can you stop if it comes your way.
Remember, a certain warrior lived in a certain land in recent times.
While he was planning and scheming for death in other lands, floods
ravaged his adopted country and he couldn't do anything. Assuming he
was God, he would have used the flood to his advantage in other lands.

Who are you to hate some and love some? And yet you proclaim God's
name in your evil acts? Is it not the God that created you that also
created those whose lives you have taken and those whose lives hang in the balance because of you? What if He decides to give them your own mind? How will
you survive? Assuming everyone is as evil as you are, what chamber would you have had of being where you now are?

My dear inhabitant of this globe called earth, just don't use God's
name in your evil actions because He is not as evil as you have chosen
to be. You cannot do for God what He cannot do for Himself!

Learning Deutsch

The first time we arrived purposely to learn German, we were so enthusiastic. For me, I haven't really sat down to learn a new language, perhaps because there are no formalised institutions for learning Nigerian languages as in Germany. And that strikes me as odd! No one seems to have discovered that we could actually create formalised outlets for learning some, if not all, of our 250 languages. If that had existed, I could have spent time learning good Hausa formally in the six years that I spent teaching in Gombe.  But again, there is yet another snag: why would one pay, sometimes heavily, to learn a language that perhaps has little or no global presence?
