Terrorism by Mad People
As usual, I am talking from a position of ignorance.
Which means, "I don't know and will love to be educated!"
Within one week, at two different incidents,
The first at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,
The second at Alphen Ann Den Rijn, The Netherlands
Gun men opened fire indiscriminately and unprovokedly
On innocent individuals and killing more than a dozen!
This kind of act is the trademark of the US and China
Gradually making its way into newer territories.
Now, added to our dread of earthquakes, tsunamis
And other forms of nature's angst
Not forgetting the bomb-laden religious zealot
And the deadly raids of sit-tight mis-rulers
Our fears have increased to having to look over our shoulders
At evey public space - schools, malls, train stations,
In case a trigger-happy youth is around for
The next despatch of souls to the great beyond
Before turning the gun on himself.
Since when has it become a norm
That if somebody wants to die
He or she will come out to forcibly take escorts?
Is that not a kind of denying other people
Of the right to make their own choices
About when to vacate this cosmic realm?
You are tired of life but they are not.
So what makes your choice superior to your victims'?
Why am I saying all these?
It is because the only consolation these victims
And their relations will get is that
The shooter was actually "mentally deranged."
Mentally deranged? And he or she knows how to use a gun
And also knows where best to use it
To attain very sickening carnage?
I don't know about you
But methinks that a mad person who in
His/her madness mows people down with a gun
Should be branded a terrorist and treated as such
Dead or alive!
I mean, what is the difference
Perhaps, they are adherents of a kind of religion,
Madness, in deed!
My heart bleeds for the families of the victims
And the injured of this new terrorism!
Somethng should be done about these arms
Flying all over the place before they graduate into
Using bombs and nuclear weapon threats.
You never know!
