The Façade: Ode to Weaky Leaks

It happens everywhere: politics--global, local, and glocal
There is always something that someone wants to keep from the knowledge of somebody
Amidst the smiles, pretences and upended falsehood
There lies a subterranean pouch, filled to the brim with leering sham
Shrouded in back-slapping and vigorous handshake formalities

What about the suits? The starched shirts? Stiff ties that more or less look like
dog collars on the necks of the file-carrying subordinates
Schooled in the lies which their principals ferry from coast to coast
They coat their faces with cosmetic smiles and follow the path of deception
That their governments have drummed into their heads

Here comes the weaky leaks ... exposing pretensions of nations
The world is topsy-turvy because the diplomats we used to know
Are nothing but spies? Nay, that is glorifying them from their base abode
They are gossips and rumour-mongers. All over the world
We now know that they say one thing to the public and another to their government

Who is this government? A glorified conglomerate of opportunists
They are not necessarily the ones we see in the news
They are the silhouettes that throng palace halls and whisper into the ears
Of those who should matter from the dark recesses behind public thrones
And we all are victims of these vermin!

In a south African nation, weaky leaks tells us a first lady is committing genocide for diamonds
In a west African nation, revelations point to a weakling leader
And the greed of one of such business conglomerates that run governments
Where is weaky leaks to tell us the truth about Cote d'Ivoire
And the recalcitrance of the one that lost and shamelessly sits tight

Can we now have weaky leaks tell us what our parents, siblings, spouses
Bear in the dark crannies of the hearts within which they bear us
Are there dark images lurking in the unseen quarters of the kisses, pecks
And professions of love with which our ears are constantly harangued?
Who else will know but the eavesdropping weaky leaks

Are we truly safe in the hugs of those who hold us dear?
Politrickians and their representative diplomats are family
They are parents, spouses, siblings, uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces
And yet, they sell us all to faceless conglomerates
Being family, how safe are we within our nuclear strongholds?

Where is weaky leaks please? Assuage our fears, please!
We are at the mercy of spies who cable our weaknesses to our false friends
Who hide their true identity from our overweening charity
Who laugh at us once our backs are turned in spite of our love
And soon give us away to those who pretend to love us

Assuage our fears weaky leaks! Tell us more of the dark secrets
Kept from those who the secrets are meant to protect
Ha ha ha! Those who love us more than we love ourselves
They protect us by keeping us from knowing the things that protect us
Weaky leaks cometh! Run with your tails between your legs!

But you, weaky! What is your own gain?
Are you doing a good deed or a misdeed?
How I long for a leakycious leaky leaks to unmask your design
What is the intention of the person who tries to make me see my mother’s underwear?
Are you the messiah weaky leaks?
