Difficult Things For Humans To Do
shocker for me to discover an unbelievable pattern.
On my list, I have a number of things including:
On personal level,
It is difficult to find an honest person,
To find a good spouse,
To find a true friend or lover who is selfless and dedicated,
To tell the truth,
To admit that you are wrong and the other right,
To concede that another person's mother cooks better than yours,
To accede with your lecturer that you truly failed an exam,
To admit one's ugliness,
To publicly concede the fact that the other person is better,
To be selfless in that you think of others first,
To agree to be the fallguy for someone else's mistakes,
The list goes ...
On the national level, it is difficult for leaders to be liked when in power,
Difficult to use public wealth for public good,
Difficult for leaders to admit a wrong,
Difficult for rulers not to think of self-perpetuation in power,
Difficult for them to see that the people are suffering,
Difficult for one group, religious or ethnic, to admit that they are
oppressing others,
Difficult for men to see that they we are more promiscuous than women,
Difficult for the older generation to agree that they were as wayward
in their youths as young men and women of today,
Difficult to accept that uour religion is fake and is a sham,
Difficult to say good things about our bosses,
Difficult to believe that that girl and that guy are just mere friends,
Difficult for women to stay away from men and vice versa,
Difficult not to make the same mistakes as your parents in spite of
all the warnings,
Difficult to make people have sex with condoms,
And difficult to even make people abstain from sex even if their
genitals will disintegrate in the process.
In all these, the pattern is that it is difficult to do good!
It is easier to kill than to make alive,
Easier to misunderstand someone than understand him or her,
Easier to malign, condemn and slander than to extol,
Easier to be ungrateful than to say "thank you",
Easier to complain than to appreciate,
Easier to get pregnant out of wedlock than within it,
Easier to get a boy or girl friend than to choose a spouse,
Easier to "bone face" than to smile,
Easier to take than to give,
Easier to cheat or swindle than to be honest,
Easier to be irresponsible than to be responsible,
Easier to divorce than to marry,
Easier to divide than to unite,
Easier to make promises than to fulfil them,
Easier to die than to continue living,
Easier to speculate than to investigate,
Easier to create false rumours than to stop them...
The list continues.
Think about it!
Are we programmed to do bad things?
My answer is NO!
It's a matter of choice.
I choose to do the difficult. If you so do, please feel free to share
